Before we get to the ins and outs of U.S. Government, and even before we get to the purpose of government we need to be able to define government. This may sound simple but give it a try. You can look to dictionaries but the definitions are not very satisfying.
What IS Government? What makes it different than any other organization of people?

Government to me is a big group of people who create laws and rules we as a society have to follow. Under the term "Government" there are many branches and in those they have rules and ordinances.
